At Arizona Doberman Kennels, we carefully select our breeding dogs based on health, temperament, genetics, and maturity. Our dogs are raised as members of our family, live indoors, receive regular veterinary care, and are selected for stable temperaments, sound structure, and the protective yet affectionate qualities the Doberman Pinscher is known for.At AZDK, our goal isn't simply to produce puppies—it's to preserve and improve the breed while providing families with lifelong companions they can trust.

At Arizona Doberman Kennels, we believe responsible breeding means putting the health and well-being of our dogs first—not maximizing the number of litters they produce.Every dog in our breeding program must first pass our health screening process and is not considered for breeding until at least 2 years of age. This allows us time to evaluate each dog's health, temperament, structure, and genetic testing before making any breeding decisions.Female Dobermans (Dams)We typically retire our females by around 7 years of age or after a maximum of five litters, whichever comes first. Every breeding decision is based on the individual dog's health, physical condition, recovery from previous litters, and veterinary recommendations.Once retired, our females remain cherished members of our family or are thoughtfully placed in carefully selected retirement homes when appropriate.Male Dobermans (Sires)A healthy male can continue breeding later in life than a female. Our sires are generally bred up to around 10 years of age, provided they remain healthy, fertile, and continue to meet our standards for temperament, structure, and genetic quality.Our PhilosophyWe never breed simply because a dog is capable of producing another litter. Every planned breeding is evaluated individually with the goal of improving the breed while prioritizing the long-term health of both the parents and their puppies.At Arizona Doberman Kennels, quality always comes before quantity. We would rather produce fewer exceptional litters than overbreed our dogs.

Yes, when appropriate and safe. Dax Mercado of AZDK is our primary sire and plays an important role in our breeding program.Availability depends on breeding schedules, the safety of our dogs, and the nature of your visit.We enjoy introducing families to our breeding dogs whenever possible because we believe transparency helps buyers better understand the temperament, structure, and personality behind our puppies.

Yes. When appropriate and safe, visitors may have the opportunity to meet She-Ra Princess of Arizona, one of the dams in our breeding program.As with all of our dogs, introductions depend on the health, comfort, and safety of both the dogs and our visitors.We believe seeing the parents whenever possible helps families better understand the qualities we strive to produce in each litter.

Yes. We often open reservations for planned litters before puppies are born. Reserving early allows families to secure their place in the pick order before availability becomes limited.A $1,500 non-refundable reservation deposit secures your pick position and is applied toward the total purchase price of your puppy.We keep our reservation families updated throughout the pregnancy and after the puppies arrive with regular photos, videos, and weekly Facebook Live updates.

Our protection plans are designed to provide additional peace of mind while reflecting our commitment to responsible breeding and long-term support.Every AZDK puppy includes our 1-Year Pup Life Protection Plan.Families also have the option to upgrade to our 5-Year Protection Plan for additional coverage and peace of mind.We're happy to explain the details of each plan before you reserve your puppy.
